HOBO COINS

The Great Depression, in the 1930s was the beginning of a decade of unemployment, poverty, low profits, deflation and lost opportunities. Which forced a huge number of men to hit the road, they were also known as ‘the knight of the road’. What is considered folk art now, the ‘traveling men’ would sell these on their travels or have them traded for a meal and even shelter for the night.
